Preferably windows, chromebook is eh and definitely no macs. Touch screen would be nice but not necessary. I want light weight and slim with enough battery for a good 6 hours. Needs good inbuilt wifi adapter.


In summary I want a slim laptop i can take to university that also has enough power to run some last gen games.

2021.10.17 13:38 co1dBrew Dog with resource guarding and seperation anxiety

My 5 year old dog has been resource guarding ever since we adopted him. He has no problem with us going near his bowl, and his toys we can touch as well. But whenever he steals a sock or anything similar oh boy. He'll growl like crazy, bark and even almost bite you. It's gotten to the point where he won't come to the door for walks and he'll wake up in the middle of the night to steal socks from our bedrooms. I've tried giving him treats in exchange for the items he's stolen, or at least getting him to leave it momentarily, but it hasn't worked so far.
Another thing is he's very afraid of long walks and new places. He'll often grab the leash and pull until we let go or get him to let it go (in which case he'll try again in a minute or two).
He's been in a car accident before we adopted him and two of his legs are not perfectly healthy, so I understand that he wouldn't like really long walks but he'll want to go back home after about 50 meters of a walk, which leads me to believe it has to do with anxiety. He's also perfectly fine with running and jumping around in the house.
I was hoping to get some advice from someone who's had similar experiences with a dog

2021.10.17 13:38 workingonitmore I don’t hate myself anymore

Three weeks ago I came on SD and made a post called “I hate myself.” I was hungover, anxious, and praying for gd to put me out of my misery.
After today, I will have 21 continuous sober days. The longest stretch without drinking in 2 years. I can report that as of today, I don’t hate myself. I still have anxiety but it is so mild compared to that day. And, I don’t feel any rush to get to the grave.
I’m still eating kind of crappy, but I have put really good things in place to replace the drinking. I go to different meetings. I check in here. I am more engaged in my hobbies again. And I am working on making IRL connections that do not center around alcohol. Yesterday, I met up with someone from my sewing group to check out a fabric store.
I am still vulnerable, but I don’t fee raw anymore. And, I made it through two conferences without drinking, which is kind of a coup for me. I really could not have done it without this wonderful community. Thank you, SD. IWNDWYT

Who is the Legion of Superheroes after?
Saturn Girl, Phantom Girl and Chameleon Boy (using classic names for now) are in the present on a covert mission (like a Young Justice team!) to track down someone in a yellow geometric sphere. Saturn Girl implies she has spoken to M'gann and given her a mental block.
Said sphere appears to fire a paired blast of heat energy not unlike Kryptonian heat vision. There is a black skinned individual with a mohawk haircut in the sphere.
My thoughts: this is a time sphere. The character is a time traveler, which explains why the Legionnaires are after him.
Legion characters that traditionally look like the character include Invisible Kid II aka Jacques Foccart and Tyr. Probably not either. Can be anyone considering all the Legionnaire re-designs.
Since it shoots dual lasers, perhaps it's a Kryptonian or Kryptonian legacy or a Daxamite out to destroy Connor's life for some future reason.
Ideas?

I just had my basement remodeled, including extensive electric work. Now the light fixture in my utility room doesn't work. Electrician claimed my fixture died, so I said I'd replace it. Bought a new one on Amazon: https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/31Auy99oNuL._AC_SY580_.jpg
Wired it up, white to white screw, black to gold screw. Bulb won't turn on. Tried multiple known-good LED and incandescent bulbs. Nothing. Voltage difference between black wire and ground is 120 volts. When the bulb is installed, voltage difference between white wire and ground is 100 volts - so I guess the bulb load is consuming 20 volts? Without the bulb, there is no voltage at the white wire.
What's going on? Did the electricians mess up my neutral upstream or something? Everything else on this circuit works. I tried bending up the copper contact in the fixture - no change.

Hi SR Family,
I am on my longest SR discipline ever = 31 days. First of all, I am NOT taking this as a "challenge" or "streak". I am trying to build a lifestyle where SR is essential.
I do 2 Asanas + 100 pushups + 70 situps every day. I use to suffer from wet dreams, but after doing the 2 asanas, I am doing good, no wet dreams till now.
But ...
I am actually not seeing many "benefits" or things like that. It may be because I am not usually outdoors much or things like that.
